Steed Family : During the Fall shoots, I've discovered that we have to be very flexible with our schedule. The rains come and go as they want, and we just have to work with the windows we're given. This family was all for it, and we popped outside of their home (which happens to be a university campus!) for a few snapshots. Then, as we were wrapping up, Mother Nature decided to give us a surprise downpour :) We were so lucky to get these in while we could! Location: SFU Campus, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby

Zaitsoff Family : Shannon had contacted us for her own family portraits, and decided to get a few photos done again when her extended gathered together. She told me it would be 6 kids under six, and 2 very proud grandparents. This was so special - it was the house Grandpa had built, where all the moms had grown up, and now the 6 grandchildren roam around in the luscious pasture. J + S : Shannon had contacted us a while back in preparation for Sam's arrival, but it seemed like time passes by quicker than we know - and he's 3 months old! Luckily, since they live close enough we could be fairly flexible - and as soon as a sun shone on a Saturday morning (one that we though would get rained out!) we took our chances and had a great shoot. We were up in their neck of the woods shooting around on the trails and playgrounds the know and love. It was a fabulous time, and the kids were especially well behaved!! Baby Emi : We were in search of Cherry Blossom Trees as they were blooming around Vancouver, and we were able to find a little opening right beside the Waterfront Station that offered a true Vancouver scene. With the Canada Place sails, and the North Shore mountains as the backdrop, the shoot couldn't have felt any more 'Vancouver' for a family visiting from out-of-town! It turned out to be the perfect setting for this beautiful family!

Man Family September 2011 : Pictures from a family shoot out in Vancouver. It was so much fun doing this shoot at Yvonne and Kwon's house. Their kids have so much personality and energy! Kids are notoriously hard to shoot. To get great photos where they actually LOOK like themselves, and behave like themselves, you need to get to know them, and know what makes them happy. This marked the first photo shoot I've done where I had to... sing...... the Thomas the Tank Engine theme song for most of the shoot. But look at the pictures! It was all worth it :) The things that photographers do for good pictures! Enjoy!
